The Department of Radiology
provides comprehensive inpatient
and outpatient diagnostic
services. Imaging techniques
available include
state-of-the-art computed
radiography, computed tomography
(CT), ultrasound, mammography
and diagnostic angiography.
Inpatient Services
The Inpatient Radiology
Department is a 24-hour imaging
service that uses
state-of-the-art x-ray producing
equipment (computed radiography)
to generate images of the
tissues, organs, bones and
vessels of the body, as
prescribed by physicians, to
assist in the diagnosis of
disease or injury. Procedures
are also performed at the
patient's bedside using mobile
radiographic equipment, in
surgical suites through the use
of mobile fluoroscopic (C-arm)
units, as well as in the
Emergency Department, and
recovery room. Medical imaging
procedures are performed by
adapting the variable technical
parameters of the procedure to
the condition of the patient,
assuring minimal radiation
exposure to patients and
personnel.
Outpatient Services
Radiology provides complete
outpatient diagnostic imaging
procedures. Comprehensive
radiography (x-ray) is available
for skeletal, abdominal, chest,
genitourinary (GU) and
gastrointestinal (GI) diagnostic
testing. CT scan of the brain
and body and abdominal and
musculoskeletal Ultrasound are
available. A physician order is
required for all procedures.
